 I CAN'T SING AND I CAN'T DANCE BUT I LOVE MUSICALS - CAN I JOIN, WILL I LEARN?
Yes! Some of the greatest performers in musicals have been neither singers nor dancers but they learnt the skill of how to 'sell' a song. We can teach you that skill. As the song goes - "You don’t have to sing, you don’t have to dance but nothing will happen till you take a chance"!
WHAT DO THE FEES INCLUDE?
- 11studio lessons (once weekly) plus the staging-rehearsal afternoon (3 hours) and the performance day... afternoon and evening (6 hours minimum) in a theatre.

CAN I PAY BY THE CLASS/WEEK/MONTH?
No, sorry! You can pay for the first five classes of term but then you must pay for the rest of the term in full (8 classes). We cannot accept any other payment schedule.
CAN I JOIN AFTER TERM STARTS?
If you wish to join after the week of 11th Jan 2012, the school will adjudge each request individually. There is a point when it’s too late to join, as a newcomer wouldn’t have time to catch-up. However, that depends on the experience level of the applicant so that’s why we look at it individually.
CAN I CHANGE CLASSES?
All classes in any week will have the same content as far as possible so make-up is easily taken. BUT we prefer you please try to stay in the same class for the whole term.
You cannot take make up in class that is already full.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Loose or stretch clothing is best. Jeans, skirts (of any kind) and trousers are unsuitable. The best guideline is to wear gym/health club/exercise clothing. Street shoes and jogging/track trainers CANNOT be worn. You can choose to work barefoot or in light weight dance/gym shoes.
WILL I HAVE TO SING/DANCE SOLO?
In class or performance no one will ever be asked-to or made-to perform solo work unless they are ready for that and are comfortable and prepared to do so.
WILL I GET TO PERFORM IN PUBLIC?
The term ends with a closed door/friends & family only performance on 25th March 2012. This is NOT open to the public and is by YOUR invitation only.
IF I AM TAKING A SINGING-ONLY CLASS CAN I STILL BE IN THE END-OF-TERM SHOW?
Yes! All students, no matter what class they are taking, appear in the end of term show.
I AM UNDER 16 YEARS BUT LOVE MUSICAL THEATRE – CAN I JOIN?

WHO DO I PAY/MAKE CHEQUES TO/DO YOU TAKE CREDIT CARDS?
All payments will be made direct to the YMCA.
You may pay by credit or debit card, NETS, cash or cheque.
IMPORTANT NOTE: YMCA MEMBERSHIP
We have now relocated to the Singapore YMCA. All students of all ages at The Musical Theatre School (TMTS) MUST take up the Associate Membership with the YMCA (or Associate Youth membership) before joining our school.
Other categories of YMCA membership offer more facilities but those other memberships are subject to conditions so just check out the YMCA website first. You may join YMCA at any time before term starts but make sure the Reception registration know you are a student with The Musical Theatre School (TMTS).
